10 Saturn Aura The Aura is similar to the Chevrolet Malibu but less polished and with a tighter rear seat.The Aura's cabin is large and airy, as is the similar Chevrolet Malibu's. The well-padded dash top fits nicely and looks expensive. The rubberized switchgear also looks and feels well finished. But some other pieces don't quite make the grade. For instance, the center console creaks when it's opened and it also feels cheap. 9 Chevrolet Impala Fit and finish is much better than the previous Impala, with nice details and finely textured panels. However, there are still some panel gaps. Not all drivers could find a comfortable driving position. 8 Mitsubishi Galant The Galant's interior is well put together, but the liberal use of hard plastics made it feel cheap. The Galant's ride is stiff and choppy. 7 Volvo S40 The redesigned S40 is much better than the model it replaced. It handles well and has a tight turning circle. The interior has good ergonomics. Overall, however, the S40 trails the competition. The noisy five-cylinder engine has decent acceleration, but is somewhat slow compared with some other sporty sedans, and the ride is very stiff. The rear seat is cramped, with very tight leg room. Stability control is standard.
